If you’re finding it hard to inspire your class to write a good story. Well there’s many things that could be the deterrent. It’s usually the writing. Some children have lots of ideas but find it hard to sit and write for a long time.
A solution to this dilemma is to give a lesson called “the adventures of ……”
It involves you telling a story about yourself doing something wild. Crazy. Imaginative.
Cut a long strip of paper, sit with a small group and talk them through the process of making a story using your imagination.
In this episode I get to school, only to find my classroom is filled with aliens.
Hand out strips of paper and encourage the children to make their story as long as possible.
Give it a few weeks and you’ll have them writing the next Harry Potter!!
