I came across Gavin's page while I was looking forward to establishing an educational network in order to support me throughout my teaching path. Luckily, Gavin was a model of a hardworking and dedicating model of teachers who are totally immersed in teaching. In addition, Gavin has the transparency that takes you from the actual educational activities to let you see a complete image of your teaching process.

Gavin McCormack is an excellent tutor and learner who is very knowledgeable and conveys his knowledge of complex material in a manner easily understandable. Individual approach, great advice, positive attitude. Always on time, ready to help, very easy going, intelligent and unique style of teaching and organising his teaching material and experiments with different tools for education.
Good teaching is a mixture of art and science'the ability to grab and keep students' attention and convey complex information. A few jokes, props or stories don't hurt. These days according to the new ranking they say that explaining things clearly and getting students involved are the two most important elements for success in the classroom. I see this feature of teaching in Gavin McCormack style of teaching. He demonstrates confidence while teaching I believe having confidence in your knowledge of the material being learned to having confidence that your teaching acumen is second to none. Though these two (and many other) 'confidences' are important the most critical confidence a teacher can have is much more general, and tougher to describe than that. Working in schools is difficult and stressful, and also immensely rewarding. But if you're not confident that you're in the right place when you're teaching you're probably not. Gavin McCormack style of teaching demonstrates confidence and he knows he is in the right spot doing what is beneficial for his student young learners. He believes in building the community and his class of learning goes beyond just school classrooms.
Gavin is a fantastic teacher who genuinely connect with students and other team members and not afraid to show emotions in class or outside. His lessons exercise compassion and stories are full of self learning. His lessons teach the students to be genuine and he is generous in praising and downplay their shortcomings. His way of teaching assures them that with hard work and practice, they will eventually find difficult assignments easier. Art, music, photography, fun, story telling & nature, drama play an important part of his classroom. An awesome teacher, organiser, principal and I highly recommend him for families with kids of all ages. Gavin has the ability to inspire students to explore their gifts, and I am confident that in times to come he will continue his positive influence on many students to come. With his excellent communication skills, which is evident when examining his success in creating strong teacher-parent, team relations or connecting with students who require extra care. He is both professional and approachable, which allows for open and constructive discussion about the student at hand. Gavin and I have worked in a same group in Nepal to build schools. He is making difference in the education system of a underdeveloped country like Nepal. I met Gavin a little over a year ago during a workshop he was presenting at our after hours institution. His passion, drive and enthusiasm for teaching was contagious and since then whenever he presents at a conference I do my best to attend.
