The beauty of the Montessori classroom is that children can take your lesson in any direction they choose. A direction that allows them to discover their passions.
After a 10 minute lesson on the circulatory system, these two 10 year old budding young doctors decided they’d not only like to learn about the heart but they’d like to dissect one.
So we bought them, and they had s good look inside. (Obviously not human ones)
Lessons should not be scripted, they should not be prescribed. They should be small snippets of infuriation that allow the class to be inspired to represent their findings in whichever way they choose.
Now that’s teaching!!! ❤️
