The only constant in education is change, and that change is you!

The only constant in education is change, and that change is you!

The only constant in education is change, and that change is you!

No matter how deep our knowledge of pedagogy is

No matter how deep our knowledge of pedagogy is,

No matter how many degrees we have,

No matter how smart we are,

No matter how many times I say “well done”

No matter how I have climbed the leadership ladder,

Or how I have ticked your book,

No matter how many books there are in the library,

Or how many iPads we have,

How many worksheets I’ve prepared,

Or how much I impressed the principal or the parents.

No matter how many posters I put on the wall,

Or charts near the door,

No matter how nice I make the walls look.

“My students will not learn one thing unless they know that I care about them.”

  1. Again, Gavin, brilliant observation. Our work is not about simply preparing The environment for learning, it’s about comparing ourselves to Craig he truly caring a mutually engaged community of learners. We bear witness to the unfolding right in front of us

  3. So true. I’ve 37 years and have come to understand the necessity of communicating to students your genuine concern for them. My biggest drawback that I’m facing is that I’ve taught so many students over the year, especially having taught middle school for ten years and having approx 150 students per year which means I’ve taught approximately 2400 kids! The kids always come back to visit or I’ll have their child in my class. If I can’t recall them, they’re shocked as I made them feel how important they were.
