My first term as principal has been a huge learning curve and full of fun. Here are my top ten tips for surviving as a leader in a primary school.
Trust your staff.
Love your staff.
Inform your parents.
Be honest.
Work hard.
Don’t think you are above anyone else.
If a teacher is absent, teach their class.
Know every child’s name.
Implement changes slowly with diplomacy.
Love you staff again!
