Today’s STEM activity was a huge success, the children got into groups of three, bought their marshmallows, spaghetti and elastic bands from the STEM supermarket.
Collaboration, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, science, maths and decision making were everywhere.
Quote of the day from a child in the middle of the activity was “we can buy lots of small marshmallows for a cheap price but we should buy a few large marshmallows instead, I know they’re more expensive but they’re strong and better quality.”
It is this kind of conversation that STEM activities inspire. We now have a lot of cleaning to do but what a morning we’ve had.
