A month ago I asked politely if any of my LinkedIn family wanted to help me build a library in the Himalayas. There are a group of children high in the mountains who need access to literature.
A library would literally revolutionise their community. The calling was answered by many, some offering words of support, some offering books and others offering their time.
One man, Mark Hansen put his words into action, and got his school community to start collecting. The students at his school collected, packed and posted them.
This week the books and stationary arrived at my school and I will now deliver them by hand to those who need them most.
This is the power of social media in action, this is the power of a promise and this is the true way that we can help our students change the world.
We are the bridge between the child and the need. All we have to do is guide their hands towards change, open their eyes to a need, and give them a reason to help those who need it most.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Thank you Mark Hansen ❤️
