In order to maximise the learning potential of you…

In order to maximise the learning potential of your students you must first make sure that you are offering them an environment and a curriculum that allows them to learn in way that suits them.

If we only offer teacher at the front, desks facing the board, then we are unfortunately failing a large majority of our students. Leading to disconnected and uninspired students.

There are many ways we as teachers can provide these environments to our students. Here are the 7 ways in which our children learn and ways we can assist them.

• Visual (spatial):prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding. (Visual library flash cards)

• Aural (auditory-musical): prefer using sound and music. (Headphones linked to podcasts)

• Verbal (linguistic): prefer using words, both in speech and writing. (Library, group discussion/debate)

• Physical (kinesthetic): prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch. (Drama and theatre)

Logical (mathematical): prefer using logic, reasoning and systems. (Montessori maths materials)

Social (interpersonal): prefer to learn in groups or with other people. (Team projects)

Solitary (intrapersonal): prefer to work alone and use self-study. (Single desks available)
